--- title: Kate Fulcher affiliation: Institute of Archaeology, University College London --- # Biography Kate Fulcher has a background in Egyptology and conservation science. Her PhD was a study of painting materials from an ancient Egyptian town in Nubia (Sudan). She then did a post-doc at the British Museum in London on the analysis of the ritual black residue poured over ancient Egyptian coffins. Following that she held a position as Heritage Scientist at the Bodleian Library in Oxford, studying pigments in Byzantine and Japanese manuscripts. She is now a Lecturer in Conservation at UCL Institute of Archaeology.
