> "When learning a foreign language you get to understand aspects of human communication that wouldn't otherwise be available to you. Each language holds and thereby can teach - to the oursider - such hidden aspects. Learning a foreign language (especially one that is far from your own native one) will transform how you understand communication, mediation of knowledge and/or relationship building. In becoming yourself in a new language, that translation process becomes a process of discovering new aspects of self that you wouldn't otherwise encounter".
